Welcome to Havercroft House Nursery & Pre-School!

Hello and thank you for looking at our website.  We have tried to pack in as much information as possible onto our site but please get in touch if you require any further information.

As you know children are individual little people with their own defined personality and have likes and dislikes just as we adults do.  A good nursery with good staff recognises this is the most important aspect of caring for your child and treats them as an individual.

About Us

Havercroft House is a family owned partnership of two sisters, Jill and Dawn. When my sister and I originally decided to open the nursery in March 1999 our aim was to provide a very caring secure environment for children. They would look forward to spending time at the nursery and enjoy the company of the other children. This in turn ensures parents and carers are relaxed and happy about the time their child spends with us.

It is much easier to go to work or get on with what you need to do if you know your children are happy.   I (Jill) managed the nursery after working in the rooms for 5 years and gaining my child care qualification and Dawn covers the administration side of the nursery.

Free early learning and play for 2 - 4 year olds

We offer free early learning and play for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.  Up to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year.

The fifteen hours can be taken over 2 or 3 days of your choice.  This can be used as 1.5 days care or used as morning or afternoon sessions with us.

For further information look at our Pre-School and Free Play and Early Learning pages. The link below will give you further information from Sheffield City Council.

Our staff

This is the most important element of our nursery.  If the staff are good your child will be contented and happy and benefit greatly from nursery care.

Experience has taught us that whatever age or experience a nursery nurse has if they are employed for their genuine love of working with children and care about the many moods and temperaments children have they are worth hanging onto!

Your child’s day with us
The activities and curriculum for each room is on display outside each room. Your child will be assigned a ‘keyworker’ and they will record your child’s progress and development.  Please feel free to speak to your child’s keyworker to discuss their progress or any issues at all you may have.

Many of our activities are messy and we can get messy too, we hope you will not mind as it means they are having lots of fun!
